Everyone has their “bread and butter” - what they excel at.
Laurel Portie is one of the best in the world at making videos that convert and using those videos to build an ad strategy. So good, that her ads are profitable with little to no email.
Perhaps email is dead, anyway?
It’s not.
You’ve probably heard it’s dead because…
People who do send emails do it poorly.
People who don’t send emails have no data and just say whatever they need to say to justify the fact that they neglect it.
The good news is that for both camps, there is likely profit hidden in plain sight.
Here’s an “over the shoulder” look at what we’ve been up to:
A couple of weeks ago, Laurel kicked off a five-day free training. Then, the recordings were archived as an “evergreen” version.
The Landing Page:
The landing page is simple. We find that trying to get cute or creative with copy can be more of a distraction than anything.
You can see it here"at 2024withlaurel.com
Opt-Ins:
At the time of writing this, there have been 1,011 opt-ins.
Here’s the magic (…and it’s super simple):
Open Rates:
Many marketers believe email is dead, citing the low open rates and engagement. We could argue with them…or we could just show you the data. So here it is.
Email 1:
99.9% were delivered.
88.5% of emails were opened
57.5% clicked
28.2% replied.
I think it’s safe to say that email is definitely not dead.
The Simple Reason Our Response Is So High
)…I mean SUPER simple reason):
Allegiance Capital.
It starts with the confirmation page:
Let’s break it down line by line:
“We just sent you an email to your inbox titled "You're In." from hello@thesuccessfinder.com What Nic and I need you to do is go and find it in your inbox and OPEN IT.”
The only way you can get the thing you want is to go dig it out of your email. Ya know those people who enter fake email addresses to get the lead magnet? We had some of those, but after hitting the confirmation page, most went back and entered real emails. Which means:
We have their real email
We can communicate with them in the future
Fewer emails bounce, protecting deliverability in the future.
They read the confirmation page
We know they pay attention
They actually wanted the thing enough to go back and redo the opt-in.
We also told them exactly who the email was coming from and the subject line. This does a few things. Most importantly, it’s transparent - things happen exactly the way we said they would.
The confirmation page, which is often ignored, has already started to shift the psychology of the prospect while filtering out the ones that will not engage.
“If you do not OPEN IT, you will NOT get the next email with all of the replays, resources, and bonuses.”
The emails were set up so that you get the deliverables 24 hours after you open the email preceding it. Not many people are used to that, so we tell them right out of the gate: “If you don’t open it, you won’t get the next one”
So…if they want the thing, they have to open the email immediately.
Since they know exactly who it is coming from and the subject line, it’s easy for them to go search for it and open it without getting lost, distracted, or confused.
“Inside that email is a video that walks you through my 4-year journey with Nic and it will give you a full 5 days of training to master marketing and sales for 2024 and beyond.”
And then we just told them what was inside.
Again, transparency.
You’ll see the importance of this in just a few minutes.
“Okay…So That’s One Email…”
…and email open rates significantly decrease as time goes on and people get deeper into a sequence, right?
….right?
Here’s the second email in that sequence:
The confirmation set up the first email for success.
The first email set up the second one… and so on.
There are six total emails in this sequence.
Here are the stats at the time of writing this:
Email 1
Delivered: 99.9%
Opened: 88.5%
Clicked: 57.5%
Email 2
Delivered: 100%
Opened: 92.59%
Clicked: 40.74%

Generated from this list:
$70,000 in sales
65 people on the waitlist waiting for enrollment to open
Little hinges swing big doors.
Key principle: Allegiance Capital
Simple landing page, clear next steps, and what to expect
Reason to go open email as soon as possible on the confirmation page
Make it easy to find the email by telling them the subject line and the address it came from
Let them know if they don’t engage they don’t get the thing
Notice: There is no fancy copy. Most of the time, trying to write compelling, long-form copy confuses the prospect more than anything. Clear, concise steps work will move people through a process.
